The update brought a refresh in Stepford Connect's stopping pattern, a train delay propagation system, replacements of the custom steaming system with Roblox's built-in part-streaming system, seating prompts, a new train ( Class 444), a Stepford Connect extension to Leighton West, and lots of station overhauls, which is mostly centered in the Whitefield branch and the Leighton Zone. A full rebrand has been made to those two operators' fleets, and some existing stations have been upgraded. Version 1.6 was released in June 2020 with a new extension to Willowfield on Stepford Connect, along with the Morganstown Shuttle on Waterline.
At the end of May, a sneak-peek showed that SCR is changing its logo. In May 2020, Version 1.5 was released with a new role, Guard, and this update introduced brand new liveries for Stepford Connect and Waterline. In mid-December, Version 1.4 was released, which included a new operator, Stepford Express and also the new extension to Llyn-by-the-Sea, made up of eight new stations. Throughout the year, more and more of the trains on the network were upgraded to Next Generation. In mid-May, Version 1.3 was released with the new Class 158 and Class 508, the first trains to have proper interiors and working doors. At the end of April, Version 1.2 was released, adding 6 new stations, 4 of which were made by Mattyx2013, the new Operations Director (now former PDV). On the 21st of April, the biggest update yet, called The Big Update, changed the complete foundation and fabric that the system of SCR was built upon. The development of SCR between late 2017 and April of 2018 was very stagnant. This sub-operator was named WaterLine due to its close proximity to the River Benalong its Port Benton - Greenslade section. Later that year, Stepford Connect spread its services to the suburbs of Benton. The only route and train were Stepford Central ( named Stepford Town at the time) Port Benton and the Class 700, respectively. The network at the time was very small and under-detailed with Stepford Connect being the first and only operator. Charlie is legally blind so his friend, BanTech became the main developer for SCR. The founder, Charlie_RBX (then named MAGICMOVIESTEAM1), opened up SCR to the public on the 25th of November 2017.
